Maryland Bankers Association Welcomes Additional Guidance on PPP Loan Forgiveness
Annapolis, Maryland, May 24, 2020 – The U.S. Treasury and the Small Business Administration (SBA) have issued additional guidance on loan forgiveness for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Friday night, the Small Business Administration (SBA) and U. S. Department of Treasury released the much-anticipated interim final rules describing the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan forgiveness process, as well as lenders’ and borrowers’ responsibilities. Earlier last week, the agencies released the loan forgiveness application and announced that the regulations and guidance for borrowers and lenders in relation to the loan forgiveness application would be forthcoming.
Founded in 1896, the Maryland Bankers Association (MBA) is the only Maryland-based trade group representing banks in the state. MBA's member banks employ about 28,266 banking professionals in nearly 1,490 branch offices across the state.
